Where we come from.
Build a digital platform for maritime shipping? Impossible, we heard that often. Yet in 2017 we simply went ahead and did it.
Container logistics still ran on phone calls, emails, separate portals, and stacks of paper. We believed it could be more logical. That’s how HelloContainer became one of the first independent container platforms in the Netherlands, built on one idea: give the shipper back control.
That approach was quickly recognised. In 2018, shortly after launch, we won the Emergo Innovation Award for the unique combination of transparency, efficiency, and ease of use.
We are a medium-sized, enthusiastic team — multicultural and multilingual, united by mutual respect for each other and for the world around us. At the core is a dedicated team of customer service and customer success professionals, supported by our own software developers. We work as one team with one clear focus: the customer first, in everything we do.
Our journey
Founded
One of the first independent container platforms in the Netherlands, built on one idea: give the shipper back control.
Emergo Innovation Award
Recognised shortly after launch for the unique combination of transparency, efficiency, and ease of use.
New name and brand identity
A new name and brand identity mark the next phase of the platform.
Further growth on the platform
The market is ready for the innovation we built from day one. Multiple large customer deals cause the number of containers on the platform to grow exponentially.
Independent and growing
With our own team of engineers, customer service and customer success, two offices in Goes and Rotterdam, connected to the DCSA standard and trusted by FrieslandCampina, Outokumpu, Damen, TenCate, Magna Tyres and Top Onions.
Three disciplines, one direction.
Product, technology, and commerce come together in the leadership team — people who know container logistics from the inside out, supported by an in-house development team, with the customer always front and centre.
More than ten years in container logistics taught Michiel that complexity isn’t the problem — fragmentation is. His conviction: the future of shipping is about fewer dependencies, not more coordination.
Ron comes from software development and builds solutions that make processes smarter. He leads the development team and makes communication with shipping lines and freight forwarders significantly easier.
With fifteen years in international enterprise sales, François builds the commercial engine behind the platform. His focus: scaling up, strategic partnerships, and bringing HelloContainer to international markets.
